There are a total of 19 villages on the island of Guam, although a handful of them are actually combinations of multiple villages. Over time, Guam's people have associated villages such as Mongmong-Toto-Maite and Asan-Maina together for so long, many consider them as one village.

Despite Guam's size - a mere 212 square miles - the villages are quite distinct, especially when comparing those from the north, central and south. A tour around the entire island of Guam at a comfortable pace takes about 3 hours.

A trip up north takes you to some of Guam's most secluded beaches as well as the fenceline to Andersen Air Force Base. The north is also home to Dededo and Yigo, two of Guam's most populous villages.

Guam's central areas are host to most of the commerce and government activity, as well as the Tumon district which is the heart of Guam's tourism industry.

Guam's southern villages such as Talofofo, Inarajan, Merizo and Umatac are those least affected by time. These villages offer lush landscapes, incredible vistas and a lifestyle that is markedly different than their central and northern counterparts.
